I found the tutorial for this sweet wreath here on Martha Stewart's website. I just used peppermint swirls instead of black and orange candies and it went from being Halloween wreath to a Christmas wreath!
I didn't have a hoop so I made my own out of 16 gauge wire that I had gotten from Home Depot (found with the picture hanging supplies). It was a little too weak to support the 2 pounds of candy though so after finishing everything I had to make two more hoops and secure them to the back of it with embroidery thread. In the end everything worked out great and it only cost me $2 in candy from Dollar Tree (in case you haven't noticed yet, I love that store!). I think next year I might get some of the green peppermint swirls and alternate them with the red ones.
You could even give one of these as a gift that is not only a cute decoration but a snack as well!

Hi Megan,
I found your blog through Beckie's blog (Infarrantly Creative). I'm looking at the directions on Martha Stewart's website, and I don't mean to be dumb...but I don't get it!!!! What loop and what knot? =) Can you kinda explain what you did? Because I think this is pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen and I totally want to try it!!! Thanks!

What I did was tied the thread to the hoop so that I had two equal lengths of thread. Then I knotted it a couple of times to make sure it was secure. Once you are ready to start attaching the candy, you start to make a knot with your two threads but don't pull it all the way tight which should form a "loop" for you to stick one end of the wrappers of three candies through. Once you have the wrappers in the loop pull the knot the rest of the way which will secure the candies. Make another knot to make sure the previous knot holding the candies doesn't come loose. Then you make another loose knot loop and insert the ends of three more candies and continue in the same manner until your wreath is full.
Hopefully that cleared things up for you. I was a little confused by Martha's tutorial at first too but I wasn't sure if I could word it any better which is why I just posted the link. :-) If you still have troubles with it let me know and I can try to take some pictures of the process. I'd also love to see some pictures of your wreath when you are finished!
