If you have a budding archaeologist, why not take them on a fun little dino dig? :)
Of course, if your little one isn't into dinosaurs, the bones could be of whatever animal they like.
Just fill a shoe box with a few cups of uncooked rice and toss in a handful of uncooked macaroni.
Then hand your little one some paint brushes and spoons and let the excavating begin!
Jer had a blast with this project. It kept him busy for about two hours! He got distracted from the digging for awhile and just played in his "sandbox" building mountains.
Once all of the "bones" had been collected, he glued them onto dinosaur printouts that I found at Discovery Education.
This project was really easy to throw together and gave us something fun to do while we were inside waiting out a heat wave.

LOVE this idea! Will be copying for sure. :)
Great idea. and Look at his gorgeous red curls! I love them =)
ooh, I love that! reminds me of an amazeballs sandpit I saw somewhere online once. Someone put cement in there, made dinosaur bone shapes and footprints (pawprints?) of some majorly BIG lizardy things and put sand on top once the cement was cured. So cool I still want one for myself, but in the meantime i might just have to get the lil' dude to excavate some pasta bones. Neat idea!
Awesome! I hope you have fun with it. :)
Thanks! He gets the red curls from his daddy. :) He had just gotten out of the tub when these pics were taken so they were pretty tame, usually he has a huge fro!
That sounds absolutely amazing! Sadly, we don't have anywhere to do that at our current place but I am definitely going to keep that in mind if we move. :)
Thats so cool, totally something to do on our school holiday list. :)
What a totally fun and creative project and perfect boredom buster!
This is so cute! I love the extension of gluing them onto the dinosaur picture. If he enjoyed that project...he may like this one as well. :)
