Santa Clothes

Today I made these cute little Santa clothes out of felt with 24gauge wire clothes hangers. You could hang these on the tree but I put them on a "clothes line" in the bathroom as if Santa had hung them there before hopping in the shower. Hey, I thought it was funny! :-p

Glittery Banner

To make this banner I printed the letters out in Copperplate Gothic Bold font size 500 in Gray 10% color so that I wouldn't waste too much ink. I used those letters as a stencil and cut them out of red and green cardstock. Then I sprayed them with adhesive spray and sprinkled on glitter:

Christmas Decorations

Here are some pictures of our Christmas decorations so far. I still have a few projects that I want to do over the next few days to add to it but so far I'm pretty happy with how things are turning out. :-)

You might notice that the star on our tree is a little crooked. I usually have to make sure everything is straight and symetrical but this one is actually intentional! We love the movie "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" so this year we decided to go for over the top Whoville-style decorations and the stars on their trees are usually tilted or bending down.

Peppermint Candy Wreath

I found the tutorial for this sweet wreath here on Martha Stewart's website. I just used peppermint swirls instead of black and orange candies and it went from being Halloween wreath to a Christmas wreath!

My Christmas Soundtrack

We have a Christmas party coming up and when thinking about the music I decided that I wanted a mix of classics and fun new versions of old favorites and this list is what I came up with. It has some upbeat songs that will put you in a good mood as well as some slower songs that remind me of the real reason for the season.

Paper Roses

These paper roses are so easy to make and the best part is that my black thumb can't kill them!

Beaded Snowflake Ornaments

I got the idea for these from Martha Stewart's website. Mine are just 24 gauge wire from Home Depot (you can find it with the picture hanging supplies) and clear seed beads twisted into snowflake shapes using needle nose pliers.

Christmas Story Time Box

Previously I had bought some of those IKEA organizers with the little drawers but I didn't really have a use for them at the new house. So I took the drawers out and used them as dividers in my kitchen drawers. That left me with the box that I kept around just in case it could be used for something. Yesterday I took the shelves out and this:

My Creative Corner

We have a closet that is supposed to be for laundry but the washer and dryer is already hooked up in the basement and I didn't like the idea of having the laundry right next to the door that everyone comes in and out of anyway. So I took that space and turned it into my craft closet! Now instead of having my craft supplies crammed into cabinets and boxes, it is all in one place and there is an area to work on things and I can leave out half-finished projects and just close the doors when I need to take a break. I love it!
