Candy Boxes

As I said before, we still have two more Christmas get togethers left so I am still working on some gifts. For a few people I am making White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge (for the recipe check out this post) and I need some pretty boxes to put it in.

I found this pattern and used the basic design to make my own pattern. I just changed the dimensions a bit and added the additional flap on the far left and right to keep the lid from caving in. It took a few minutes to measure out the exact dimensions I wanted but once I had one done it was easy to cut it out and just trace around that template for the remaining boxes. I used white posterboard and traced the pattern onto the dull side so that the shiny side is on the outside of the box.

I then used the scoring attachment on my paper cutter to make it easier to fold.

A few pieces of double sided tape (or glue stick or hot glue) and I have a 5 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" deep x 1 3/4" tall candy box! I just added some ribbon and a label and its good to go.

The nice thing about making your own is that you can make at least six for the same price as one premade box. You can also get the exact dimensions that you want and you can make them in a variety of colors instead of just white.
