I found this coffee fabric dye tutorial by One Cheap B*tch and decided to try it out!
And the bottom has these awesome dark lines along the wrinkles:
On the second one, I flipped in half way through and the wrinkles are slightly defined.
I'm really happy with how all of them turned out and I can't wait to get crafting!

First, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Then add 1 cup of instant coffee and 3 Tbsp Vanilla. Allow to cool completely.
Place your fabric in the coffee mixture and make sure all of it is soaked. Wring out the excess liquid.
Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 250 degrees for about 5 minutes, turning it over at least once.
For the first one, I didn't get rid of any of the wrinkles from wringing it out. I also didn't flip it at all. The top is a little lighter:

For this last one, I pulled on the fabric before baking it to get most of the wrinkles out and flipped it about every 1 minute while it was baking.
I'm really happy with how all of them turned out and I can't wait to get crafting!

if you like it a little more antiqued - sprinkle wet coffee grounds on the fabric and you get random spots. This works pretty god with tea, also. I'm impatient, so I've just dried them in the micro...not sure how safe that is, so keep an eye on it!
Thanks for the idea. I did it years ago using left over regular coffee. I ironed the fabric to *set* the color and diminish the wrinkles. I like your idea too because of the defined wrinkles. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, thanks for this great idea but I was wondering what was meant by 'Vanilla'. Is that vanilla essence, a vanilla pot, or some other sort of vanilla? Excuse my ignorance, I am just starting out on working with fabric and embroidery.
I think she means Vanilla Extract.
