Pumpkin Spice Werewolf Kibble

The traditional version of this is often called puppy chow or muddy buddies. Since Halloween is approaching I am calling this awesome pumpkin spice version werewolf kibble. You could also go with graveyard gravel or something like that. Whatever you want to call it, this stuff is highly addictive. I am going to be really disappointed when the pumpkin spice kisses are no longer available.

I think the spice on this is perfect. If you want to boost the flavor a bit though you could toss in some pumpkin spice mixture (a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice) with the powdered sugar.

Pumpkin Spice Werewolf Kibble
adapted from What's Cooking, Love?

2 1/2 Graham Cracker Sheets (about 1/2 cup)
1 cup Powdered Sugar
5 cups Rice Chex Cereal
1 bag (10 ounces) Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses, unwrapped

Place graham crackers in a gallon size ziploc bag and close. Use a glass or measuring cup to crush the crackers into crumbs. Add the powdered sugar and mix together. Set aside.

Put the Chex cereal in a large bowl and set aside.

In a medium size microwave safe bowl, melt the kisses for 45 seconds. Stir until smooth. If not melted, continue to heat it and check at 15 second intervals until completely melted.

Pour the melted kisses over the cereal and stir until the cereal is evenly coated. Add the cereal mixture to the graham cracker mixture, seal and shake until cereal is completely covered.
