DIY Teacher Gift Idea: Super Teacher Tote Bag!

Want to give your child's teacher a special homemade gift this year? How about a DIY tote bag? They are fun and practical!

I actually made this for Jer's teacher last year but I forgot to post about it until now. I don't have a step by step tutorial because I was just kind of winging it and learning by trial and error but I'm sure you can find a good sewing tutorial somewhere.

To make things even easier, you can pick up a pre-made tote and just add the lettering! I made an adhesive stencil using my Silhouette and added the lettering using fabric paint. The font is Luckiest Guy. You can also buy iron-on letters if you don't have a cutting machine or don't want to mess with paint.

I also included some of these: printable bookplates and bookmarks. For the bookplates I kept the clip art but changed the wording to say, "                     wrote the book on being a good teacher. This book belongs to her." Then I printed them out on a few sheets of large adhesive address labels.

Cute idea! I have a couple of years until my daughter has a "teacher", but I'm keeping this in mind for when she does!

This such an awesome idea. My sister is a teacher and I'm sure she would feel indestructible if she owned this.
