Secure Curtain Rods

This tip is pretty simple but my husband convinced me that other people might be able to use it so here it is!
We have decorative curtain rods that look nice but don't want to stay put. After opening and closing them a few times, the rod slides out and the decorative end twists around like this:
I thought about asking my husband to drill holes in the hooks and rods so that I could put a screw in place but that would be a lot of work and it would be difficult to get them lined up correctly.
Then it hit me...

We had this caulking cord laying around in the basement. You could probably use clay as long as it is a kind that doesn't dry out and harden.

I just tore off little strips and put it in each of the cups that holds the rod.

Then I put the rod in place with the decorative end exactly where I wanted it.

Now no matter how many times I open and close the curtains, the rods don't move a bit!
