Chicken Alfredo Pizza

My husband came up with this pizza combination and people usually look at him like he is crazy when he is ordering but everyone who has tried it loves it! We can't afford to order out very often though so I learned to make it at home. It takes a little more effort than just picking up the phone but it is definitely worth it.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Ingredients:
Pizza Dough (recipe HERE)
2 Chicken Breast Halves, cut into strips
1-2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
Black Pepper
Alfredo Sauce (recipe HERE)
8oz Mozzarella Cheese, shredded

Additional Topping Suggestions:
Green Olives
Mushrooms
Bacon

Make pizza dough and allow to rise according to instructions below. When the pizza dough is almost ready to use (about 1 - 1 1/2 hours) start to prepare your alfredo sauce and chicken (this can be done the night before). Place your pizza stone or cookie sheet in the oven and preheat to 425F.

Chicken:  In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown chicken in vegetable oil until cooked through. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Set aside.

Assembling the pizza: Turn pizza dough onto lightly floured surface. Divide in half. Return one half to the bowl and roll the other half to the size of your baking sheet. Press onto hot baking sheet. Top with half of the alfredo sauce (more or less to taste). Bake at 425F for 5 minutes.

Top with half of chicken and mozzarella cheese, as well as other toppings of choice. Bake for 4-5 more minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

Repeat with other half of ingredients. Serve hot.

Makes: 2 medium pizzas

I would have never thought to combine those toppings on my own, but it looks delicious.
